National Archives, Thrift Stores, Report Cards
October 29, 2010
I don't have a lot of time today to update. I've got to get to the little chapel as soon as the bell rings because I failed to get the presentation for music class finished. I had a whole lot of stuff to talk about too! So that'll have to be on Monday. I also still have that book review but, as I said, not a whole lot of time today to type it up. In other words, this will be a pretty short post.
NANOWRIMO is right around the corner! Today, tomorrow and Sunday are the only days left. There's still time to sign up if you'd like to participate. If you've signed up and haven't said anything about it, go ahead and make me a writing buddy, my name is Tovinney and I'd be delighted to have you in my list of friends.
In other news, I was contacted yesterday by a person who works at the National Archives in regards to a volunteer position I had emailed them about. I'm going to DC on Saturday to talk with her and see exactly what volunteering implies. If it works out, I'll get to ride the train into DC every Saturday and work at the National Archives. I'm really, really looking forward to that. The volunteer position has to do with Twitter but that's all I'm saying about that. ^^
Went thrift store shopping with my mom yesterday and pretty much scored big. Mostly new skirts, a few new jackets and one or two shirts. I have a hard time finding tops at thrift stores for some reason. Always have. My closet is getting pretty stuffed so I'm going to have to cull some stuff and donate it to one of those yellow boxes they have in parking lots all over the place.
Report cards come out next week during the open house which means that I have to have my room sparkling clean for the parents who are coming in. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to open house or not. It's a little bit intimidating because I never asked to be judged like this and I hate being scrutinized to start with. lol
Right. Well, the bell is going to ring in about ten seconds and I have to get moving. Have a great weekend everyone! See you on Monday!!
NANOWRIMO!!
October 25, 2010
Okay, well, I have a TON of new cosmetics to review for you all but I'm going to wait on doing that until Friday because I have a few more things coming in and I'd like to get them all reviewed in one big post. So look for that on Friday. I also need to post a review on the latest Bethany House book, Within My Heart (which was fantastic, btw) but that'll be out on Wednesday because Monday is a lamoid day to do book reviews on. It's pretty much the equivalent of just giving up and doing the lazy thing. No laziness here! Not today anyways.
Todays post is all about NANOWRIMO!!! Which, for you non-authors, stands for National Novel Writing Month which, as it turns out, is November. Yes. I'm not sure if you were aware of that or not but November is the month during which you are supposed to write a novel. A 50,000 word novel to boot. I'm not quite sure I'm going to get that far considering I've got a weekend in Mexico coming up (to which I am NOT bringing my laptop) but since it's almost the last weekend in November I think I'll be okay. I can probably get it mostly done by then. Yeah.
Really, the whole point in my telling you all of this is so that you can sign up too! I know a few of the people who read this blog will be interested. Even if you've never considered yourself an author, if you have nothing else to do next month, you might still give it a try. You might surprise yourself!
The framework for my novel is already together. I'm going to write about a girl, Devaroux (Dev-ah-row) who is conscripted to take a group of explorers to the far north, a place she's been but no one else has ever seen. Turns out that the far north is the end of their book and they all fall out. Enter Charlotte, a lady who works with a company that specializes in the abnormal. It's all going to be very Doctor Who-ish and highly fictional and completely fun and a great escape. I'll consider posting excerpts up here but only if they're actually worth posting. Because...you know...what I consider to be quality might not actually be quality. Ahem.
Anyways, if you do end up signing up, my username is Tovinney and I'd be more than happy to be your writing buddy. The website is nanowrimo.org and it's very well done. It should be a cinch for you to find me. It starts the first of November so if you're going to do it, start thinking about what you're going to write right now! They aren't looking for amazing quality, they're just looking for people who are interested in trying and excited about knocking out a whole novel in one short month. It requires you to write approximately 2,000 words a day but, if you're like me and you've done this for awhile, 2,000 words in one day is like an hour's worth of work. Nothing. And you don't have to write it all at one time, just come at it in thirty minute intervals whenever you have a chance. Basically, the whole point behind nanowrimo is simply to get people to write. Anything.
Also on this week's to-do list is getting a new logo for the top up there. I think the otter in the pool is a bit out of season. Of course, this is coming from the person who had a snowman in her logo until June or July. lol. I always forget about that thing.
Thanks for reading! I hope to see you all at Nanowrimo!!! Have a great week!! Ciao!
Stuck on Ebay
October 22, 2010
I go through these really quick stages where I get super, super interested in something and then, just as quickly, I lose interest. I'm getting that way about Ebay finally. It's been about three days and if ever there was a hobby that sucked money it's my Ebay one. I've started winning stuff. Like...lots of stuff. Cheap stuff, but you know how seven dollars repeatedly can get fairly expensive. lol I've only got three more things in my bidding list (the rest is in my watch list) and I'm leaving those bids how they are. If something interesting comes up in the watch list I might buy it, but other than that I'm finished. Good news is that I should have a lot of great stuff to review next week. Yay! Oh, and I need to correct the post from yesterday. Apparently Ebay does not have a system to prevent sniping as I learned yesterday when I lost some Benefit Moon Beam in literally the last minute. The thing said >1 min and I had the high bid and all of a sudden it was over and I'd lost it. That was a bit annoying but at least I learned something out of it. No protection from snipers on Ebay. lol. You've been warned!
Yesterday I attended a really boring board meeting for the Odenton Historical Society and learned that, yes, I am doing their website but I'm also working with two other people who have thus far not done so well with the website. Why they won't just let me have carte blanch with the website I don't know. It would be so much more helpful. Red tape. Blech. Nevertheless, new website. And they also asked me to do a lot of design work which, truth be told, I enjoy much more than coding websites. I'm going to be doing a lot of posters, postcards and fliers over the next couple of months as well as designing a book about cemeteries that the society has put together. That's something I'm looking forward to, despite the whole website fiasco.
I'm eating a candy bar for breakfast. A Caramello to be exact. I've been sick all week and the chocolate makes my throat feel better. At least I'm telling myself that. I'm not sure how music class is going to go but I've got to have it because we're starting practice for 3rd grade's Thanksgiving program. No, we haven't started that yet. Yes, Thanksgiving is like...five weeks away. Huzzah.
Despite all of this, life is really good. It has gotten nice and cold outside and the trees are just gorgeous this time of year. I have a free evening tonight and, other than a cold, I'm feeling pretty good. I only had one student fail my Spanish class and there are only two 'D' grades, everyone else has an A, B or C. I'm going to Mexico in a month and I've finally got my finances under control (considering that I've been spending so much money recently, I'm really glad that's the case). The only thing that could make it all better? A snow day. Ha!
Have a great weekend everyone! On Monday hopefully I'll have received the palettes that I ordered and I'll be able to write up a review. If not, I got my MAC Paintpot in and tried out this new eye thing by CG so I'll write up on those. Plus I need to just get down to it and write about boots and sweaters which are apparently the must-have things for fall. Funny how that works out. lol Ciao!!
Heya, Lauren! I'll try to call tomorrow, kay? Once you hear about it you'll remember. XD
Colds and Ebay
October 21, 2010
Normally I don't do a mid-week post but I have all my studying done for Spanish today (we're going to design a house a talk about what would be in each room, in Spanish of course) and I have an easy music in about a half hour (because I still have this cold that for some reason won't let go.) My voice is pretty much shot and I would have canceled music again today like yesterday but apparently 4th and 5th grades have only had two actual music classes. lol!! The teacher was pretty upset with me when I went up there to let her know it needed to be canceled. My voice was all cracky and I was sniffling all over the place but she's right. They've only had two music classes in nine weeks. That's craziness.
Anyways, the real reason for this post is to tell you all what I've discovered. The way to shop on ebay is this: Go do a search for a particular brand of makeup (Benefit, MAC, Urban Decay, Smashbox...etc...) with the word 'cosmetics' after it. Like this: Urban Decay Cosmetics. Then, when all of that comes up, go to the 'sort by' dropdown box and choose 'Price + Shipping: Lowest'. Once you do that, all of the really cheap stuff will come up. Stuff that costs $1.00 or so with $3.00 shipping. This method requires a lot of patience because once you find something that you'd like to buy you can't bid on it. Instead, put it in your watch list. That way you won't make the price go sky-high early on. Usually these things have two to four days left. So just patiently watch them until there is about two hours left. If no one else has bid on the item, let it go for a bit, until there is maybe an hour left. Then bid the lowest amount possible and wait to see if you get it. If someone has already bid on the item and they seem pretty determined to get it you might have to bid a couple of times and watch it pretty closely until the end. And remember, ebay has a system where if you bid in the last couple of minutes or seconds the time will be extended to give the other bidder another chance to bid. This eliminates 'sniping' which is what bidding at the last second is called.
A few tips:
- Be very sure that the item you are purchasing is full size and not 'travel' or 'sample' size because those things will naturally be much cheaper.
- Always, always make sure you check the shipping charge, regardless.
- Have a max purchasing price already decided before you start bidding. Be sure you add the shipping charges in with this price.
- Don't feel bad if you lose a bunch of stuff, there will be more things out there and besides, you didn't lose any money so it didn't cause any damage anyways.
- Don't give in to spontaneous buys. If you can't think of a legitimate reason to buy something, think very carefully about it before you do.
- A general rule of thumb should always be to never pay more than full retail value. What's the point of shopping on ebay if you are going to pay the same amount or more than you would pay at the actual store? If you're going to do that, just go to the online store and buy it there. At least that way you know you're getting an authentic product and you get it in sweet packaging to boot.
- Keila came up with a good point after I'd posted this. She mentioned that you should probably be looking for good quality grammar and descriptions in the listings. If the person who listed the item can't even spell, how trustworthy are they really? And if they won't tell you what the item looks like, maybe it's because they don't really have it.
I have approximately twenty things in my watch list right now, all of which cost $10.00 or less. Obviously I'm not going to buy them all and chances of some of them being fakes are pretty high. But they're just in the watch list so if they turn out to be a good deal I'll probably snag them just because. And the best thing? I never have to worry about a legitimate reason. This blog is a legitimate reason. lol!!
See y'all!!
Hey Mrs. Leemon, Mrs. Gill and Ash! Thanks for the comments!!!
ULTA Haul, Makeup on EBAY, 9th Week of School
October 18, 2010
Well, folks, this is going to be quite an involved post today. I've got a few new websites to introduce you all to thanks to the amazing Mrs. Gill and went to Ulta over the weekend and have pictures of the awesome stuff I bought.
So, without further ado, let me get this out of the way: It is now the ninth week of school (end of the first quarter) and I have to admit that my favorite class is my homeroom, the 8th grade. They're just so sweet and they're in that stage where they're trying to feel out exactly what's going on with kids older than them. I've got a few who have it all figured out and then a couple that are seriously clueless as to how maturity works. But they're all adorable, especially the ones who try to joke around with me but don't quite get it. I love it! I almost wish I had more than twenty minutes a day with them. I would so teach them in 9th grade next year, seriously. They're a wonderful group of kids.
Over the weekend Mrs. Gill introduced me to two fantastic makeup websites that she'd found. The first one is Makeupgeek.com which is a site chock full of tutorials, ideas and reviews. Personally, I love it. There is a ton of great stuff here and if you're looking for something you'd probably find it here.
The second website she told me about is Eyeslipsface.com which has a ton of products. I've heard of elf before but I've never tried any of their stuff. Now, it does seem fairly well-priced but I'm always dubious when it comes to cheap stuff like this because usually you get what you pay for. But listen, I'm not saying it's poor quality, I'm just saying I've never tried it. I've bought a palette and am going to try it out and I'll let you know how it works. I didn't lose much if it doesn't work because a. the palettes cost about $5 and everything is 50% off right now thanks to an extended Columbus Day sale. I bought the everyday palette which is an assortment of browns. Hopefully it comes in this week.
ULTA TIME! I'd read about Ulta in a magazine somewhere along the line and thought, for whatever reason, that it was purely a west coast thing. I'm not sure where I got that idea but, happily, it turns out that this is not so! There is an Ulta right in Annapolis! Basically, Ulta is like a giant, beautiful Sephora but unlike Sephora it carries the cheap drugstore brands (CG, NYC, etc..) as well as the higher priced amazing quality stuff (Benefit, Urban Decay, Tarte, Smashbox...) so if you see something that you like in the quality stuff but can't justify the expense you can usually find something similar in the drugstore brand section. I took my mother along with me because she has turned into a makeup fiend (FYI she spent more money on makeup than I did this weekend) and we had a really good time. She mostly spent the time getting her eye makeup done while I killed time looking through absolutely everything. Maybe I spent more money than I should have but I love everything I bought.
This stuff is Eyebright by Benefit. I really love Benefit's eye stuff and I already use the Powderflage which is a powder for the under-eye area. The eyebright comes with a concealer that I'm not too fond of as it is very dark so I use my other concealer by Benefit, Boi-ing - fantastic, fantastic stuff by the way, and then smear this stuff on top. I've decided, however, that I'm going to have to either buy a new concealer brush to use with it or use my finger because I'm getting the concealer mixed in with the eyebright lol. You don't need much of this stuff, just two dabs on either side of your eye smeared down. Then I use the powderflage on top. That's a lot of stuff to use on your eyes, Liz! you say. But, really, it's not. I don't use a whole lot and it looks great when I'm done. I'll show you all sometime. This stuff cost me $12 somehow. I think it was actually supposed to be $18 or something. But the receipt says $12 and I'm not complaining. It'll last forever because you don't use a whole lot and there is a lot in there. That's why I don't mind buying Benefit stuff. Not too bad a price, fantastic product.
These brushes were cheap and that's pretty much the only reason I bought them. They're the Ulta brand and to be quite honest, they aren't exactly my favorites ever (if I had to choose over two store brands I'd choose Sephora) but they aren't bad. They're synthetic so they'll last a bit longer than the natural bristles but I don't like the feel of synthetic. As I said, I bought them because they were cheap. Six bucks for the black ones, five for the red/brown/orange one.
Tweezers! By Tweezerman! And yes, if you've ever heard rave reviews about them, they definitely live up to the praise! These were originally priced at $15.00 (as you can see in the cruddy picture) but the price was lowered to $7.50 for clearance (Ulta has a clearance section! Woot!) This was the only set of tweezers in the clearance section so by default I ended up with paw prints but I am really not complaining. I love these things!!
Now these are my absolute favorite purchase of the day. By far. I love, love, LOVE them so it was worth the $39 that I spent. Whoa, that's a lot yes, but, I look at it this way, for what I paid for these mini pencils I would have only got two full-sized pencils. Pencils, you say? Yes, I respond. These are amazing. They're basically eye shadow in pencil form. They might look like eyeliners and you can use them that way, but they're actually meant to draw all over your eyelid with. So in essence you could make designs with them and such (not that I'm going to do that..no...). They're wonderful because they're super easy to control and they spread very, very easily. You don't have to apply much pressure to your eyelid so they don't hurt to apply either. If you're interested, they're by Urban Decay and they come in a nifty little box called 24/7 Jackpot. You'll probably spot them online somewhere if you look but I'd suggest going to Ulta and getting them because you'll pay an arm and a leg if you buy them online.
Which brings me to my next topic. When I first really got into makeup I was in Mexico which meant that I had to buy anything I wanted online (and then wait a month to actually get it by which time my interest had usually waned significantly). Now that I'm back in the States I am beginning to realize that buying cosmetics online isn't such a great deal. This is because anyone who has this stuff is usually wanting to make a profit off of it and they'll price it just as high online as they would in a store (if not higher). They know what you're willing to pay so they'll ask for it. NO one out there is trying to be 'nice'. All they want is your money. So, before you decide to buy something online, have a general idea of what it actually costs in a store. For example, NARS blushes will generally run around $30 in a store. That's why I don't own any. lol But knowing that, you'll know when you are actually getting a deal and when you aren't. And, a quick pointer here, if something is priced WAY too low to be normal, you might make sure it isn't a fake. I've bought a fake MAC compact online before simply because I didn't do my research (ironically, however, the makeup works just as well as real MAC makeup does). If you don't mind a fake, go ahead and do that. You might end up liking it better and you'll pay less. If you have decided to buy online instead of a store, shop around! There are several places that sell makeup, not just ebay. I'm not sure if you've noticed but Amazon isn't just for books anymore. That's where I got my Clarisonic and it was priced WAY lower than on the Clarisonic website or ebay even. The only other thing to tell you is that once you've decided what and where you're buying, make sure you look at the shipping costs before you actually bid on or purchase the item. A lot of sellers will price something cheap because they'll make up the loss in the shipping cost. I'm serious when I say you'll see something priced for $.99 with a $15.00 shipping charge. They're making their money on the shipping. (And this doesn't just apply to makeup. It pretty much applies to everything being sold on ebay right now. lol)
Well, that's it and I still have plenty of material for my next post later on this week. Thank you Mrs. Gill for the websites!! If anyone has anything else they've found that they want to see up here, please let me know! I love finding new stuff and consequently writing about it! Have a great week everyone! Love ya!!
Bouncy Castles, Photography and Free Time
October 15, 2010
If you are a teacher at OCS and are wondering what I mean by those last two words in the title 'Free' and 'Time', I am here to tell you that, while endangered, such a thing really does exist. You can even say it, it won't bite you. 'Free Time'. It means something like three hours where you have no other obligations. Personally, I like to go wandering around when I have this free time. Tonight, since I am completely forgoing the Dr. Jasmine sessions (no, I will not be learning about Spurgeon, pity I guess) I am getting off at 5:45, hitting up wal-mart for film and a battery and going to the park on Dicus Mill Road that I've heard about but never visited. Apparently it's really close too, I've just never been there. Maybe if it's too dark I'll just go see it tonight and take pictures of it tomorrow afternoon. The weather has been beautiful these days and the leaves are just starting to change color. In the evenings you can see your breath in the air and that makes everything alright. You know, that time right in-between doing what you were doing and doing what you're going to do. Where you're walking or going to your car. Those are the moments that you really have to grab onto because they're the sweetest and most often the fastest.
Today was the Walk-A-Thon here at OCS, we had a great time. Actually, I'm still here, updating this from my school computer. The kids are playing games and watching VeggieTales. Next up is the ceremony for the person who brought in the most money (they're going to win an iPad) and then 6th-8th grade has time in the bouncy houses we rented. (Thus the title.)
I was thinking last night and it occurred to me that I was being very discontent with my current situation. I had never wanted to be a teacher, ever. Still don't, actually. I would much prefer a job that required me to travel and be resourceful. Teaching requires me to be resourceful but not travel. I want both. But right now, at this point in time, I can't have both and until I come to accept that fact I'm just going to be unhappy. Or, I can accept it but work towards my ultimate goal, travel, which is what I'm doing. Anyways, I've determined, like Paul, to be content where I am right now. This isn't going to last forever and I would hate to look back and regret hating where I was because, really, it's a great place! I could be in much worse situations.
Regardless, I am not going to be here teaching forever and to be quite honest, the quicker I can get away from it the better. I'm getting way too many gray hairs already. lol.
Thanks for reading everyone! Have a great weekend! I'll probably have pictures on Monday! Yay!!
Jeremiah 39:18
October 11, 2010
Usually I don't really like reading Jeremiah because it is a bit depressing. But God really knows what you need, doesn't he? I stumbled across this little gem a few seconds ago.
For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou has put thy trust in me, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 39:18
Yeah, pray for me. A bunch of little things but apparently I let the little things get to me. lol Hey, Ash! You are definitely cool enough. ^^
TARDIS cake, Flirting and Sunday Afternoons
October 10, 2010
We'll start this post off with a fantastic thing.

As you can see this is the Doctor's TARDIS made out of cake. I've recently been browsing the Cake Wrecks blog because it's just so hilarious and laughing about cake pretty much makes wasting time a guilt-free experience. Of course, credit where credit is due, this cake was made by people from Cake Nouveau. I don't know who they are but they're pretty cool if they can make the TARDIS out of cake. If you're sitting there wondering what on earth the TARDIS even is, I'm sorry, I can't explain it to you but you could go look up Dr. Who on Google and I'm sure you will find your answer. If you already know what it is, welcome home. ^^
There have been some....developments? recently with a person and another person and I know a lot of people are wondering what exactly is going on there and why I'm not doing anything about it? Quite simply it's because there isn't anything going on!! Once again, if you don't know what I'm talking about, well, you can't google this. But I'm not going much further than that. Just know that there isn't anything there and, as far as I am aware, there won't ever be anything there and I'm not getting involved with something like that again. It hurts. I know this first-hand.
Sunday afternoons are pretty much the only time I have to get uninterrupted work done. Around 4:00 in the afternoon or so the music in the hallway stops playing and no one is in the church so I can literally have the run of the place. Y'know, take off my shoes (like in the old days) and go use the dye-cutter to make more than sufficient apples for my bulletin board. I even managed to rearrange the desks and get the floor cleaned. Now that is progress my friends. The only other thing I'd like to get done is get the whiteboard erased and my smartboard moved in here. The church was given one of those smartboards (thank you, Obama) instead of money for that little program or something that had to do with getting money...but we didn't...we got a really expensive smartboard? So, being the church's only not-too-busy techie, I get to mess with it. It'll be sweet, I hear it's got a little quiz type thing on there and you can draw on it and stuff so cool. But some of my classes are so crazy that it's going to be a challenge to see if it can be used properly without detracting from the class. Who knows? Maybe it'll be a huge help. Unfortunately they're amazingly expensive so my only job is to figure out where it can best be utilized and after that it'll be moved to that location. I could just claim it'll best be utilized in my classroom. lol. If it is. I mean, I don't want to be responsible for it 100% of the time, y'know?
Anyways, enough blathering. Out of money for this week but I did make some great purchases at Kohls. The unfortunate thing about that store is that you can only go there maybe once a month. What you do is look through the clearance racks first, find stuff and then go look around the store for stuff you like but don't want to pay full price for. Then you go back next month and find that stuff in the clearance rack and decide what stuff you want to look for the next month. They don't always have everything but I've gotten a lot of good, cheap stuff that way. And when I was there on Friday all of the jewelry was 50% off so I got some fun stuff. And hey! It's officially Autumn so sweaters can be worn now! I've got to find some black flats and ditch these white ones that I've been wearing all year. They're close to becoming my trademark. Fortunately, kicking my shoes off is still my signature move. lol
Love y'all! Thanks for reading! Leave a comment! Ciao!
Flip-flops, Boots, Saturday!!!!
October 8, 2010
Here is my predicament. See, I've lived in Mexico for the last four years and the place where I lived really never got below 70 degrees. Maybe in the mornings sometimes but in the afternoon it didn't and so we never had to worry about cold-weather footwear. Ever. Much less coats. Well, sometimes coats, but not usually. My point is, I've pretty much been wearing flip-flops for the last four years without any breaks in that routine whatsoever.
So on Tuesday or whatever, my mom comes and tells me she has a secret about me. Being naturally curious, I wanted to know of course. So she says, "Sandals are for the summertime only." Gah! Yes! I know this! But it's only October and my feet aren't cold yet so, regardless of the fact that I'm wearing a coat, I didn't see the need to change shoes because my feet weren't feeling any bad effects as of yet.
Then I walked around downtown Annapolis in flip-flops and a coat and realized how ridiculous I looked. Regardless, I knew flip-flops couldn't be worn year round in the States but it still bothered me that my mom told me anyways.
So yesterday we went shoe shopping. Well, first, actually, I took my mom to Sephora and created a makeup monster (she bought way more in her first trip than I ever have) which isn't all a bad thing because she used my Beauty Insider card so I have buku points now. Me? I got pale concealer because, it is official, I have lost my Mexico tan. I didn't tell anyone this but one of my most recent acquisitions was a MAC tube foundation. I love, love, love it. Great stuff. This foundation is also pale, pretty much like a sheet of pale pink paper. Yep. Rabbit trail there. Anyways.
My point is, once we finally got out of Sephora, we went shoe shopping. We hit up pretty much every store that sells footwear and I only managed to buy one pair of boots. Brown boots because I actually do have a pair of black ones which, strangely enough, are still in style somehow. They're those boots that have the seams on the outside and look as if they should be worn inside another boot? Yeah. Weird shoes. Comfortable. But weird.
Anyways, so this pair of brown boots is cute. They magically make your foot look super small. Like, tiny, tiny, tiny small. Other than boots though, I have no idea what constitutes casual winter footwear! I'm not wearing anything other than flats for teaching because my feet can't stand even the smallest heel all day and I still need to buy a pair of rubber boots for rainy/snowy days. So my only problem is shoes for Saturdays, which are my 'I-am-not-really-a-teacher' days when I get to dress however I like. And all I have are two pairs of boots. So what do I do? Clogs? More boots? I'm so lost and confused! I missed this part of my college education apparently. Zappos isn't being very helpful either.
Levi just asked the class next door if they're happy it's Friday. Yes, yes I am so, so, so happy it's Friday.
Jury duty ended up being two days so I went to Annapolis twice, spent a lot of money the first day because I ended up walking down main street. Got the cutest scarf and the cutest hat plus a Vera Bradely wallet which is blue. Then yesterday I got those boots, as I mentioned, and the cutest brown leather aviator jacket which I have every intention of wearing tomorrow with my boots. We are going to Deale, MD tomorrow for a revival meeting held in a church down there. I'm playing the piano and still have every intention of wearing a blue jean skirt. Apparently they're very casual in that part of the State. I wouldn't know. I've never been there.
Need to go to Wal-Mart tonight to buy a box of tissues for my classroom plus some colored tights I think. Maybe, I'm still contemplating that. Since I don't like nylons as it is, why would I torture myself on a Saturday with colored tights? See? Doesn't make sense, does it? Sometime this weekend I'd like to go through the 'craft room' and 'storage room' (both of which are stuffed full of boxes) and find my orange pea-coat because it is super adorable and along with it should be my black corduroy skirt and my black and white sweater, all of which constitute as winter wear and won't get me stared at. lol
Have a super great weekend everyone! I hope your plans work out and you don't get too cold! Enjoy this great, super, amazing fall weather while you can (if you're having great, super, amazing fall weather like we are up here in Maryland) and if you can't, find something else to do! Thanks for reading!! See y'all on Monday!!

Tim leaves tomorrow. Well, tonight technically, I'm going to have to say good-bye tonight because he actually is spending the night at a hotel near the airport I think. Then he'll take off from Fort Meade sometime in the morning while I'm teaching. (Curses on that occupation.) My parents and Ashley will be there, the rest of his siblings won't. The next time I'll see him is in December because he gets a week of leave for the Christmas holidays. Am I sad? A little bit. People keep asking me what I think but, honestly, I haven't thought about it. I don't want to think about it because it hurts. I haven't had to say good-bye to one of my siblings before. Steph lives in town and when I left they said good-bye to me which wasn't a big deal. But now Tim is leaving. And he's going to be gone for good. He won't ever live with us again. Unless he's like me and can't manage to live independently. lol. But he's not. He's a good kid. He'll do really well in boot camp. I'll miss him though. Really, really miss him. He's hilarious. That's what I'll miss most about him, his sense of humor. Not necessarily his attitude.
Michael's is the greatest teacher's resource that I've discovered thus far. Not only are they fairly reasonably priced, they've got way too much stuff for anyone's good. I've already picked up my Christmas decorations and I also bought 30 foam leaves which I've stuck all over my front wall. They look awesome. The clearance section is great as well, I picked up several large ice cream cutouts for bulletin boards. Now I just need to figure out how to use them in a coherent bulletin board. For Christmas I've got a bunch of foamy ornaments and some bells. I'm going to go back and buy some foam snowflakes I think. Depends. During December I'm going to have a snow-themed bulletin board and that may or may not be a bit of overkill on the snow. Especially if we get another killer winter which I am honestly and truly hoping for.
This Tuesday is jury duty. I'm really looking forward to it because if it is anything like last time I had it I'm just going to be spending a few hours in a room with a bunch of other people either talking or reading. Plus I get paid fifteen bucks to do so. I won't have anything to grade and I can't do any school work so I'm just bringing a book or two to kill time. Probably fiction books even. That way I'll really be relaxing.
Hope you all have a great week. I'll try to update again by Friday. I've found something that I'm going to start posting about which is really interesting so stay tuned. Thank you everyone who reads and tells me they read, I really appreciate the comments, even when they are negative. lol.
